To All Captains and Players

Morning Everyone

First of all could I thank all of you who attended last night’s first meeting of the season. There were a couple of notable absentees specifically Paul ” The King of closures ” Alderson our current Captain’s cup hero and El Studley the Captain of our new Madrid based Los Campeones who presumably missed his connecting flight.

Could I ask those who missed last night and all those who promised to Bank money to get this sorted asap and certainly no later than our start date of the 17th.

Please remember there will be no meeting in October so the next date will be November 5th at which two months subs will be required.

Perhaps a surprise take out from the meeting is the reintroduction of one frame of scotch doubles. This was voted in by the majority so will stand and should be played as the last frame of the eleven unless there is good reason for not doing so. This enables larger Teams to utilise up to 12 players on match night and for smaller Teams doesn’t detract from them needing six players to complete a fixture.

For absolute clarity no player can play more than two frames (including singles and/or doubles) in any match.

It was great to see so many familiar faces and urge you all to work together so we can all enjoy a trouble free and enjoyable season. Good luck to you all and thank you.

John Bruce-Hannah

Also for clarification and following a unanimous vote the break rule is hereby amended to reflect that a ” legal break ” now means a minimum of two balls must pass the middle pockets thus replacing the requirement for four balls to hit a cushion. Please ensure all referees are made aware. Regards

John
